What is domain verification for?

What is domain verification for?

What is domain verification and why is it important?

Domain verification is a crucial process that ensures you have control and ownership of the website you’re using with Revi.

🔴 It’s not just a technical requirement — this verification enables key features that enhance email security, deliverability, and the visibility of your reviews on Google.

Benefits of verifying your domain:

🔐 1. Increased security and compliance with email policies (DMARC, SPF, DKIM)

By verifying your domain, you can correctly configure DNS records that ensure emails sent by Revi on behalf of your store are not marked as spam.
This includes:

  • SPF: Authorizes Revi to send emails on behalf of your domain.

  • DKIM: Adds a cryptographic signature to protect your email content.

  • DMARC: Tells receiving servers how to handle unverified messages.

✅ This significantly improves your email deliverability (such as review invitations) and protects your brand identity.

⭐ 2. Better ranking and trust on Google

Domain verification allows you to activate features like Rich Snippets, which display star ratings in your product’s organic search results.
It also helps Google properly associate your store with your customer reviews.

📊 3. Full access to advanced Revi features

Once your domain is verified, you’ll be able to take full advantage of:

  • Public review certificate (with verified domain)

  • Advanced widgets linked to your domain

  • Integration with Google Shopping Ratings

  • Custom emails using your domain as the sender

What do you need to verify your domain?

You just need to add three TXT DNS records that Revi provides in your dashboard under the Domains section. These correspond to SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
Verification can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours, depending on your hosting provider.

If you already have a DMARC record set up, there’s no need to add Revi’s.
