REVI's Review System
REVI offers sellers and buyers a secure and reliable system for reviewing purchases made online. 4. Acceptance of the Content Policy and Fight Against Review Fraud
Revi.io provides Users with a review collection system linked to real purchase experiences. Users can submit ratings and comments about products, services, or businesses through invitations automatically generated by Revi.io after a transaction, or through other mechanisms enabled by the sellers. The submitted reviews (hereinafter, the “Reviews”) may be published on the seller’s website and/or on Revi.io’s public review certificate.
To use Revi.io’s services and participate in the publication of Reviews, Businesses must have read and expressly and unreservedly accepted the following legal documents:
- These General Terms of Use,
- The General Terms and Conditions of Contracting,
- The Privacy Policy,
- And the Cookie Policy.
Revi.io promotes a transparent and trustworthy environment. Therefore, it is actively committed to fighting the manipulation of reviews and review fraud. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Submitting false reviews or reviews that do not reflect a real consumption experience,
- Promoting or organizing campaigns to artificially alter a business’s reputation,
- Posting offensive, defamatory, illegal content or content that violates the platform’s terms of use.
Any breach of these obligations may result in the removal of the Review, suspension of the User’s access, or legal action where applicable.
5. The Reviews
Users may publish their reviews through explicit invitations received after making a purchase or through other mechanisms enabled by Businesses. Reviews must reflect a real and personal consumption experience related to the order placed or the products purchased.
General Principles Applicable to Reviews
All Reviews published on Revi.io must comply with the following essential principles:
- Authenticity: Reviews must be honest and based on a real purchase experience. The User guarantees that they have purchased or used the product or service they are reviewing.
- Free of Charge: Reviews are published free of charge. Revi.io does not accept or publish reviews that have been directly or indirectly compensated. This provision is without prejudice to possible reward programs managed by Businesses, provided that:
- They apply equally to all reviewers, regardless of the content of their review.
- The consumer is informed if an incentive has been offered.
- Independence: Reviews must be impartial. Revi.io reserves the right to remove any Review fraudulently published by employees, relatives, friends, or individuals directly or indirectly linked to the Business.
- Relevance: Reviews must refer exclusively to the purchase experience or the product acquired. Revi.io may remove those that deviate from the purpose of the service.
- Respect: Reviews must maintain an appropriate tone. Reviews containing insults, threats, offensive or discriminatory language, or personal data of third parties will not be accepted.
- Legality: Reviews that violate current regulations, promote hatred or violence, or contain racist, xenophobic, sexist, or any other illegal messages will not be published.
- Purchase of Reviews: The purchase of reviews is not permitted. Revi does not promote incentivized or biased reviews.
5. Review Moderation
Revi.io applies a moderation system based on the principles of objectivity, fairness, and traceability. Reviews are treated equally regardless of their positive, negative, or neutral tone.
Standard Moderation
- Revi.io reviews Reviews only when a formal report is received through the support system (ticket).
- All moderation actions are performed manually by the Revi.io team, after evaluating and documenting the case.
- All interventions are recorded with moderator traceability, reason for rejection, and date.
Moderation Criteria
Revi.io may reject a Review if:
- It violates these terms (e.g., insults, falsehoods, personal data, spam, etc.).
- It is duplicated, contains unintelligible language, or is inconsistent with the described experience.
Explicit Limitations
Revi.io does not modify or edit the content of any Review. Under no circumstances may Revi.io:
- Correct spelling mistakes,
- Alter the user’s pseudonym,
- Hide parts of the text,
- Change the given rating.
Revi.io does not preselect reviews and displays both positive and negative ones, provided they comply with the established rules.
6. Editing and Deletion of Reviews
On Revi.io, the content of published reviews is protected to ensure their integrity, authenticity, and transparency. Once a review has been published, it cannot be modified, edited, or deleted by the business to which it refers, nor by any third party other than the original author, unless it violates our policies. In such a case, the business may consult Revi for a case evaluation. If it is determined that the review does violate policies, it will only be deactivated, not deleted from the database.
Modification and Deletion by the Author
Only the user who submitted the review may request its modification or deletion. These requests must be made through Revi.io's authorized Support channel and can be handled in the following cases:
- Correction of typographical errors.
- Accidental inclusion of personal data or sensitive information.
- Change in experience due to subsequent resolution of the issue (always at the customer’s request).
- Voluntary request to withdraw the review.
Revi.io evaluates each case individually to preserve freedom of expression and the legitimate interest of both the consumer and the business.
Limitations for Stores
Businesses do not have access to edit, hide, or delete reviews, nor can they alter their content, rating, authorship, or publication date. They also cannot influence the order in which reviews appear, beyond the configuration options provided and transparently disclosed.
This includes:
- The prohibition to directly modify any part of the content written by users.
- The impossibility of deleting negative reviews unless they violate our terms of use (offensive content, illegal content, personal data, etc.), and only after review by Revi.io’s moderation team.
- The absence of prioritization mechanisms that arbitrarily favor specific reviews.
Public Responses
Stores are enabled with the option to publicly respond to received reviews. This feature allows them to offer clarifications, apologies, solutions, or expressions of gratitude, thus promoting dialogue between the business and its customers. The responses must comply with Revi.io’s terms of use and maintain a respectful and professional tone.
7. Temporary Suspension and Publication of Reviews
At Revi.io, our goal is to ensure that published Reviews reflect real experiences, are useful to other consumers, and comply with both the law and the principles of fairness and respect. To this end, we apply a temporary suspension policy before Reviews are made public.
Deferred Publication Period
When a User submits a Negative Review (below three stars) after a purchase, it will remain pending publication for a standard period of seven (7) days, regardless of the rating.
If a mediation case is opened, the period may be extended up to a maximum of fourteen (14) days. This timeframe allows the Business to contact the User, respond to the experience, and resolve any issues.
During this period:
- The Business may initiate a private communication channel with the User.
- The User may, if desired, modify their Review following the conversation.
- If no changes are made and no breach of the conditions is detected, the Review will be automatically published after the applicable period.
Review Rejection Criteria
Revi.io may reject a Review when, after examination by the moderation team, it is found to violate the terms of use, current legislation, or fail to meet the minimum standards of coherence or relevance.
Common Reasons for Rejecting Reviews about the Business:
- Defamatory or severely offensive content.
- Clear inconsistency between the rating and the comment.
- The review focuses on a product when it should address the overall experience, or vice versa.
- Text is poorly written or incomprehensible (random characters, serious errors, etc.).
- Total absence of a purchase experience description.
- Content clearly intended to harm the business's reputation.
- Inclusion of personal data (name, address, phone number, email, etc.) or other sensitive information that may lead to identity theft.
- Encouragement to purchase from competitors.
- Explicit declaration of not having made a purchase or had a real experience.
- Content mentioning legal proceedings or threats.
- Use of insults, personal attacks, or discriminatory language.
- Evident conflicts of interest (e.g., a review written by someone related to the company).
- Comments responding to other reviews rather than evaluating the service.
- Spam, links to other websites, advertising, or promotional mentions.
- Duplicated or clearly automated review.
- User request to modify or delete their review after an issue has been resolved.
Specific Reasons for Rejecting Product Reviews:
- Defamatory or severely offensive content.
- Inconsistency between the rating and the comment.
- Review focused on the general service instead of the specific product.
- Incomprehensible or meaningless text.
- Lack of mention of product features.
- Explicit statement of not having tried the product.
- Inclusion of personal data or sensitive information.
- Encouragement to purchase from other websites.
- Use of offensive or discriminatory language.
- Out-of-context comments or those intended to manipulate the product's reputation.
- Links to other websites or unauthorized promotions.
Commitment to Impartiality
Revi.io guarantees that Reviews are evaluated based on objective criteria, and no automatic filters are applied to favor positive feedback. The same process and timeline apply to all Reviews, whether positive or negative.
Moderation is manual and traceable, and does not involve altering content: Revi.io does not edit, correct, summarize, or modify any Review. Publication or rejection decisions are based solely on the criteria above and are fully documented.
8. Combating Review Fraud
At Revi.io, we are fully aware of the influence that User Reviews can have on the purchasing decisions of other consumers. Therefore, as part of our strong commitment to transparency, integrity, and regulatory compliance, we maintain an active policy for the prevention, detection, and removal of fraudulent Reviews.
Revi.io reserves the right to analyze, investigate, and remove any Review deemed fraudulent, meaning any review that does not correspond to a genuine consumer experience or that has been submitted with the intent to manipulate, deceive, or unfairly harm a business or the consumer community.
Reviews considered fraudulent include, among others:
- Reviews written by employees, relatives, partners, or individuals directly linked to the business with the intent to favor it.
- Reviews incentivized in a concealed way or conditioned to exclusively positive ratings.
- Reviews published with a false or impersonated identity.
- Copied, automated, or mass-generated comments.
Any User, Business, or third party who detects a Review they consider fraudulent may report it to Revi.io via Support or by email at: hola@revi.io
Each report will be individually evaluated by our moderation team, in accordance with principles of fairness, traceability, and proportionality. If applicable, corrective actions will be taken, including the removal of the Review and documentation of the case.
This policy is part of our mission to provide a useful, honest review system that complies with Directive (EU) 2019/2161, the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users, and the Unfair Competition Law.
9. Verification of Review Authenticity
At Revi.io, we are committed to the transparency and reliability of the reviews published through our platform. In this regard, we explicitly inform users of the verification mechanisms we apply, distinguishing between verified and non-verified reviews, as required by Directive (EU) 2019/2161.
Verified Reviews
Verified reviews are those submitted by real consumers who have made a purchase in an online store integrated with Revi.io. To ensure their authenticity, these reviews can only be submitted following an automated process that validates the existence of a real order associated with the user posting the review.
This verification process works as follows:
- Automated integration: Revi.io connects directly to the store's order management system, for example via specific modules for platforms like Prestashop, Shopify, or WooCommerce, or via API connection for custom developments.
- Order detection: Once a purchase is confirmed, the store system automatically transmits the minimum required order data to Revi.io (Order ID, Product ID, customer email, customer name, order date, order status).
- Invitation generation: Revi.io sends an email to the buyer with a unique link that allows access to the review form.
- Review linked to purchase: A review can only be submitted using that link.
- Marked as verified: If this flow is completed, the review is marked as “verified” and displayed as such.
- Verified review via manual order: Businesses may create manual orders from Revi if the order does not exist in their CMS. By doing so, they certify that it is a real order.
- Order import: Businesses may import orders by explicitly confirming their authenticity so that they can be treated as requests for verified reviews.
- Review import: Businesses may request the import of reviews from other verification platforms by explicitly confirming their authenticity. These reviews may be imported as verified if they meet traceability requirements, meaning they include: Order ID, Product ID, customer email, customer name, and order date.
This system guarantees that the review is unequivocally linked to a real purchase process, with no manual intervention and no possibility of manipulation by the business.
Non-Verified Reviews
In addition to the automatic system described above, Revi.io also allows businesses to request reviews via personalized links, forms, or manual imports. In these cases:
- Reviews are accepted even if there is no direct technical link to a registered purchase.
- Such reviews are not labeled as “verified” so that consumers can easily identify their source.
- Some of these reviews may be subject to manual review by Revi.io’s team, especially if inconsistencies, inappropriate language, or direct imports by the business are detected.
Filters and Moderation
All reviews, both verified and non-verified, may undergo manual moderation if needed. Revi.io may review certain reviews manually after publication, especially if they were submitted through non-automated methods.
Under no circumstances does Revi.io alter the content of published reviews, change their rating, or prioritize one over another based on whether they are positive or negative. A review may only be removed or edited if its content clearly violates legal regulations, fundamental rights, or the platform’s terms of use.
On each business’s Public Page, where the overall information about all store reviews can be seen, users can filter between verified and non-verified reviews to improve usability.
10. Limitations of Use
Users must use the services offered by Revi.io responsibly, honestly, and in accordance with these General Terms of Use, the Service Terms, the Cookie Policy, and applicable legislation.
Revi.io provides Users with access to a platform intended exclusively for transparently, authentically, and sincerely reviewing their shopping or product/service experiences, free from external interference or purposes unrelated to this intent.
Accordingly, the following are expressly prohibited:
- Using the platform for purposes other than submitting legitimate reviews based on real consumer experiences.
- Posting content for commercial, advertising, defamatory purposes, or that infringes upon third-party rights.
- Misrepresenting identities, using someone else’s account, or creating multiple accounts to manipulate the reputation of a business or product.
- Submitting incentivized reviews without transparency or conditioned to positive ratings.
- Any use of the platform that negatively affects its technical integrity or the experience of other users.
Non-compliance with these limitations may result, following a review by Revi.io, in the removal of content, suspension of the user account, and/or the exercise of corresponding legal actions.
11. User Responsibility
Users commit to using the services offered by Revi.io and publishing their Reviews diligently, truthfully, respectfully, and in compliance with current legislation, these General Terms of Use, the Cookie Policy, the Service Terms, and the principles of good faith.
Without prejudice to the clause on moderation and deferred publication of Reviews, Revi.io does not conduct prior control or systematic review of all Reviews published by Users. Therefore, Users are solely responsible for the content they generate, including texts, ratings, images, attachments, or any other elements included in their Reviews.
Content removal and measures in case of non-compliance
Revi.io reserves the right to immediately remove any Review that violates current regulations, infringes upon third-party rights, or contravenes these Terms, without prior notice.
In particular, Revi.io may remove without notice:
- Reviews identified as fraudulent.
- Illegal, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory content or content contrary to public order.
- Reviews that violate intellectual property rights, privacy, or data protection laws.
In the event of reasonable suspicion of fraud or legal infringement, Revi.io reserves the right to take appropriate legal action, including reporting to competent authorities if necessary.
Liability to third parties
If a third party initiates legal or administrative claims against Revi.io as a result of content published by a User, that User will be solely responsible and must fully hold Revi.io harmless from any penalties, judgments, claims, damages, or losses arising from such Reviews.
If Revi.io is fined or held liable as a result of a Review published by a User, that User will be required to compensate Revi.io for all damages, costs, legal fees, fines, or losses incurred, including reputational damage and defense expenses.
12. Responsibility for System Installation and Use
The Client (business) is responsible for correctly installing the module, widget, or code necessary for the proper functioning of the Revi.io system within their technical environment. In any case, Revi.io shall not be held liable for errors, malfunctions, or loss of functionality resulting from incorrect installation, total or partial uninstallation, or the Client's failure to use the system.
Additionally, the Client is solely responsible for:

- Not manipulating or altering the standard functionality of the review system without Revi.io’s express authorization.

16. Personal Data
To provide its services, Revi.io needs to process certain personal data of Users, mainly name and email address. These data are provided by the Merchant (Seller), who acts as the Data Controller in accordance with Article 4.7 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
Revi.io acts at all times as the Data Processor, as defined in Article 28 of the GDPR and the Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 of December 5 on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD). Revi.io only processes the data according to the documented instructions of the Controller, solely for the purpose of managing, verifying, and publishing User Reviews of products and services.
Data will not be shared with third parties or used for purposes other than those arising from the provision of services defined in these Terms, unless legally required or with the User’s explicit consent.
Exercising your rights
Users may exercise their rights under data protection regulations at any time, including:
- Right of access
- Rectification
- Erasure (right to be forgotten)
- Objection
- Restriction of processing
- Data portability
To exercise these rights, the User should contact the Data Controller (the Seller) through the means they have provided. Additionally, the User may contact Revi.io as the Data Processor by writing to hola@revi.io, or by postal mail to the designated address, indicating "Data Protection" in the subject line and attaching a copy of their ID. In case of representation, supporting documentation must also be provided.
17. Account Termination and Suspension
Revi.io’s Rights
Revi.io may temporarily suspend or permanently cancel a User’s account, as well as block or delete User-generated content, under the following circumstances:
- Breach of any of the terms set out in these Conditions or related policies
- Fraudulent, offensive, illegal, or bad-faith usage
- Repeated publication of Reviews that violate our content guidelines or current laws
These actions may be taken without prior notice if the User's behavior is deemed to pose a risk to the integrity of the system, the community, or the platform’s reputation.
User’s Rights
The User may voluntarily delete their account at any time. Account deletion will result in:
- Inability to post new Reviews on the platform
- Removal of all previously published Reviews by the User, unless legal obligations require retention for traceability or defense in case of complaints
Revi.io will not retain any personal data of the User after account deletion, except for that which must be stored for legally mandated time periods for legal or contractual reasons.
18. Modifications
Revi.io reserves the right to unilaterally modify, update, or revise at any time, in whole or in part, the content of these Terms of Use and any associated policies.
Any substantial changes will be communicated to Users in advance through reasonable electronic means (for example, via a notification on the Website or by email). After being notified, Users may review the changes and, if they wish, object or exercise their right to cancel their account within fourteen (14) days.
After this period, continued use of Revi.io’s services will be considered as acceptance of the new terms, which will then be fully valid and enforceable.
19. Language
Revi.io is committed to providing its services, content, and legal documentation in the User's language whenever technically and reasonably possible. For this purpose, this Content Policy and other contractual texts may be made available in multiple languages for informational and accessibility purposes.
However, in the event of any discrepancy, interpretative conflict, or ambiguity between different language versions of any content, clause, or term, the Spanish version shall always prevail, as it is the original and legally binding version.
20. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The interpretation, validity, and enforcement of these Terms, as well as the Content Policy and other legal texts related to Revi.io's services, shall be governed by Spanish law and the directly applicable regulations of the European Union in force at any given time.
In case of a dispute, both parties — the User and Revi.io — agree to try to resolve any conflict amicably and in good faith. If an out-of-court settlement is not possible, the dispute shall be resolved by the competent Courts and Tribunals in accordance with applicable legislation:
- If the User acts as a consumer or end-user, the competent courts shall be those of the User’s place of residence.
- If the User acts as a professional or business, both parties submit — unless otherwise required by mandatory law — to the Courts and Tribunals of Valencia (Spain), expressly waiving any other jurisdiction that may apply.
21. Validity
This Content Policy governs the relationship between Users and Revi.io regarding the use of services offered through the Website and constitutes the sole valid agreement between the parties in this matter, superseding and replacing any prior agreement, communication, or understanding, whether oral or written, between Users and Revi.io regarding such services.
This Policy shall remain in force as long as the User makes use of Revi.io’s services and will continue to apply until it is replaced by an updated version duly notified in accordance with the clause on modifications.
22. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
This clause defines the limits of liability between Revi.io and Users. We recommend reading it carefully and in full.
Revi.io provides its online platform “as is,” meaning without guarantees of continuous availability, suitability for a specific purpose, or error-free operation. Although the highest standards of technical quality and security are applied, we cannot guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, technically error-free, or accessible at all times.
Revi.io shall not be held liable for:
- Damages, losses, or harm resulting from the use or inability to use the platform, unless due to willful misconduct or gross negligence directly attributable to Revi.io.
- Connection failures, technical incompatibilities, service interruptions, or server outages beyond Revi.io’s control.
- Any content generated by Users, which remains the sole responsibility of the publisher.
- Third-party content accessible through links on the platform.
- Delays or breaches caused by force majeure, unforeseen events, or acts of third parties.
The User acknowledges and accepts that the use of the Revi.io platform is done at their own risk, and that services are provided within the reasonable technical and contractual limits of an online review management tool.
Unless otherwise required by law, Revi.io shall not, under any circumstances, be liable for indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, or data loss, even if warned of the possibility of such damages.
If Revi.io breaches these Terms and such breach is directly attributable to the Company, our liability to the Client (Business) shall be limited solely to direct, foreseeable, and demonstrable damages directly resulting from that breach.
In any case, Revi.io’s total cumulative liability and that of its affiliated companies to the Client shall be limited to a maximum amount of €100.00 (one hundred euros).
