I am changing my review. I originally gave this 1 star. It leaked steam and didn't cook as quickly as my other PC (Concord 8 qt which is still favored). The info on this PC, as far as I could tell, did not mention that it ONLY cooks on low pressure. I was cooking baby backs for a lg family thing in the summer & was having fits with it leaking steam. Add to that the fact that it only cooks at low pressure and I had a bit of a disaster on my hands. I now realize that the reason it leaked steam was not the fault of the PC. I just didn't have the hand strength to close it tightly enough. Have my hubby do it & all is fine. Nonetheless it only cooks on low pressure. I suggest buyers consider the Chef's Design D10, 10 quart, runs around $117 and has a setting for low and high. Great for cranking out ribs quickly but can gently whip up creme brulee or flans too.

incredibly useful in the kitchen, the brand was recommended to my by a cousin who has the same line of cookware, and I'm so impressed with it I bought my sister one for Christmas. I was scared of pressure cookers but this one is so well-made my fears vanished. Just looking at how it's made is very telling of the high quality and very good design. I am very glad I made this purchase. They are expensive, but worth every dime.

When did I bought this ? I think mid 2012.. this is my 2nd Magefesa pressure cooker and I gave this as a present to my daughter cause I have my own already which I bought from Damark about 20 years ago...it cost me less than $75 then and I think I bought this 2nd one for about $135..My first one except the black triangular fibra handle which broke about ten years ago, everything is still immaculate specially the rubber seal, but epoxy put it back pretty good since then. Recommend this product to every family..

The pressure cooker is excellent. It heats evenly and cleans easily. My only complaint is with the included users guide. If it is to be sold in the United States, or any other English speaking country, then the manufacturer should include English as one of the languages in the Users Guide. The user guide is included with products for several reasons, no matter how simple a product is to use. Not only does a user guide tell us how to "use the product" but it also gives us safety features we should abide by when using the product. It usually gives us ways to clean and maintain the product. It also should give us instructions on how to put the product together. This product only comes with 8 parts, the pressure weight, the pot itself, the top, 2 plastic handles, 2 screws and 2 lock washers. Where do the lock washers go? Do you put them between the head of the screw and the handle or on the screw after putting the screws through the handle and before tightening the screws onto the pot itself. These could easily be answered if I could read the user guide. Now I don't know if these are even incldued in the user guide, and I won't know since the guide is not in English! As a matter of fact it is not in Spanish, French, German or Italian either.

This is a nice pressure cooker, and it should be for the price. Stainless steel is of high quality. The ten quart size is large enough to cook a large whole chicken, or large chunk of beef or pork shoulder. A huge time saver in the kitchen and cleans up easily with soap and a little bar keepers friend.

I purchased this and used it three times. The first time it got up to pressure and spun the weight. The second and third would not. It seems there is a tiny gap between the ends of the gasket where steam is leaking out. The manufacturer is going to send me a new gasket but I may try to take the original one out and reinstall it too. Will update the review later based on how this turns out.
8/28/13 Bumped up from 2 stars to 4. The manufacturer sent me the new gasket and after replacing it everything has been fine. Actually I even went back and tried the original one and got it to work. It was a minor issue in production that they didn't have the gasket stretched into the lid right. If you find you have this problem just take out the gasket and reseat it so the ends meet nicely.

I bought this pressure cooker after researching and comparing many models, but was sad when it arrived to realize that it's smaller than advertised. The description says it's 11 inches wide, but it's definitely only 9.6 inches wide. I'm returning it immediately to buy a larger and more expensive model.

I also purchased my Magfesa Pressure Cooker way back in the very early 2003-4 from QVC or HSN (cannot remember which one) and it has been working very well ever since. Once, the rubber gasket around the rim of the lid was worn a few years ago and we called the mfg for a replacement, expecting to pay for it, but they sent us a new one, absolutely free. THAT MADE A BELIEVER OUT OF ME FOR THEIR PRODUCT SERVICE. I will never buy another PC except from these people. Even though they make them in Spain, the quality is superior.
I have tried other PCs, but by far, MAGFESA is the best I have ever used.
