I just changed a widget option and I don't see the change. What should I do?

If you changed an option or the design of a widget in Revi and you still see the previous behavior, it's almost always cache. The option itself works fine; what's happening is that your browser, your CMS cache plugin or your CDN is still serving the old version of the widget.

To force the change to show:

  1. Refresh the page with Ctrl + F5 (or Cmd + Shift + R on Mac) to skip the browser cache.
  2. If it still looks the same, open the page in an incognito window or in a different browser. If it shows up correctly in incognito, it was a browser cache issue.
  3. If your CMS has a cache plugin (WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, WP Super Cache, FastCMS, etc.), go in and clear the cache.
  4. If you use a CDN (Cloudflare, BunnyCDN, etc.), purge the CDN cache for that URL.
  5. Wait a few minutes. Some hosting setups have an extra cache layer with its own TTL.

If you don't want to or can't clear the cache, no problem either: the widget cache refreshes on its own after a few hours and the change will eventually show up by itself. If you want to see it right away, follow the steps above; if you can wait, just letting it expire is enough.

If after these steps you still see the old behavior:

  • check that you actually saved the change in the panel and didn't leave it in an unsubmitted tab;
  • check that you're looking at the correct store and URL (sometimes people test on a staging URL);
  • if you have two different integrations or two pages with the widget in different places, make sure you're looking at the one where you actually changed the configuration.

If after several hours and after clearing cache you still see the previous behavior, open a ticket including: affected store, exact URL where you see the issue, which option you changed, previous value and new value, browser, and whether you use a CDN or cache plugin.
