How do I configure my store in multiple languages (description, widgets, emails)?

How do I configure my store in multiple languages (description, widgets, emails)?

Revi manages multilingual content through public sites. Each public site represents a version of your public page (description, name, slogan, public page) and is tied to a language.

One site = one language. By default, your account has one public site in the language you set when you created it, and all content is managed in that single language. To have your description and other fields in multiple languages (for example, ES and EN), you need to create an additional public site per language.

Creating additional public sites requires Premium. The multiple public sites feature is available with a Premium subscription. From Public pages > Internationalisation you can add a new site for the language you need and edit its description, name, slogan and other fields in that language.

How widgets work in a multilingual store. When you have multiple public sites:

  • Each widget can be associated with a specific public site (one language).
  • Or you can configure the widget to automatically detect the visitor's language and show the content of the corresponding public site.
  • Reviews are stored in the original language the customer left them in. If you have contracted the review auto-translation (Premium + add-on per language), they will be shown translated into the language of the public site the visitor is viewing.

How invitation emails are sent in multiple languages. Revi detects the customer's language from the order data (store language at checkout, user locale, etc.) and sends the invitation email in the corresponding language, as long as you have the template translated. You can edit email templates per language from Emails > Templates, selecting the language in the top selector.

Summary for an ES + EN store:

  1. Upgrade to Premium if you do not have it yet.
  2. In Public pages > Internationalisation add a public site in EN.
  3. Edit description, name and slogan in EN.
  4. Optional: contract the auto-translation add-on for EN if you want ES reviews to be shown translated to EN for English-speaking visitors.
  5. Review EN email templates from Emails > Templates.
