How can a customer edit a review they have already published?
A published review should not be changed manually by the business. If the author wants to correct or expand their review, they must do it themselves through the review modification link or flow enabled by Revi.
When you want to request a modification:
- Find the review in the reviews panel.
- Use the
Request modificationaction, if it is available for that review. - Revi will send the author an email with a link to edit their review. The content of that email uses a default template that the business can customize from the email templates.
- Explain to the customer that they must open the link from their own email and save the changes.
- If the email does not arrive or the link shows an error, you can request the modification again from the panel or open a ticket so it can be reviewed.
Revi should not rewrite a review at the business's request. If the review contains personal data, serious insults, spam, fraud or illegal content, the correct flow is not to request a modification, but to request review or moderation with the specific reason.
The modification option depends on the review having an associated customer email. If the author does not receive the email, the link fails, or the review does not show the modification option, open a ticket with the affected shop, approximate review date, rating, whether it is a shop or product review, the action you tried to use, and a screenshot of the error. Do not include the author's personal data unless the support form asks for it securely.
