All I can say about the Matsukura Iaito Katana is wow what a fantastic sword. The photos didn't do it justice as it is stunning and the quality is as you would expect for a Japanese made sword - excellent. I have used it a few times for practive now and it is perfectly balanced and although slightly heavier than my old sword it is easier to handle and much better. The leather samegawa is also a welcome detail and is very comfortable to grip. Excellent service from Katana mart too, they answered all of my questions via what's app very quickly the same day and my sword arrived the day they said it would and perfectly packaged too. Other Sensei's from my club including my head coach have also commented how nice and balanced the sword is. If you are considering buying a Matsukura go for it you won't be disappointed!

I'm a beginner in Iaido but here are my thoughts regarding this sword:

It's really tip heavy so it's exhausting to use, but I guess that can be a good thing too. The sori is quite big (which was one of the reasons why I wanted this sword), difficult to get used to at first. The tsuka is quite nice, it's decently wrapped. One thing I noted regarding the tsuka is that it might be slightly too short, at least that's how it felt, but then again I'm new so I can't say for sure.

The reason I didn't rate this five out of five was because of the saya. It's way too tight, it's not possible to properly draw the sword (which makes Iaido impossible). You have to force the sword in, and also force it out of the saya. This is a thing to watch out for in the future I think. This is my only complaint.

Note: the only other sword I own is a Ronin Dojo Pro, so that's what I based my thoughts on.

Por fin llego. Realmente sin palabras lo que es esta katana. Por donde la mires no deja de sorprender. Todavía no la probé en corte. Pero tiene un buen balance. For £80 this sword is fantastic. Very well made & much better quality than other more expensive swords I own. This is my second from katanamart & just can't fault.

I needed a new Katana for Jujitsu training and had my eye on the Matsukura for a while. I ordered it after doing some Internet research and received it within only 3 days. Extremely well packed too and the cloth slip bagslip bag is also a nice touch. Wow all I can say is that the Matsukura exceeded my expectations and looks even better in real life than in the photos. The sword is well balanced, a nice a snug fit into the saya, no loose or poor fitted component's. The blade was blunt as expected for an Iaito for safety which is great for my needs. The leather wrapped Tsuka is also a nice change from the usual cotton wrap and is a very high quality leather. Overall a fantastic sword and well worth the money. If you are in the market for a new Katana give katanamart a try, excellent service too as they usually answer what's app messages the same day. Overall I am very pleased with the Matsukura and with the whole Katanamart experience.

Beautiful sword for the price, nice and sturdy and looks beautiful on display 10/10 would sword again

Seeing it 'in the flesh' it is larger and more impressive than just the measurements suggest. Generally well made, mine had 2 small pits near the tip, tried to polish them out with no success, doesn't detract from the overall appearance.

The swords are beautiful, very nicely made and came wonderfully packaged. Definitely will shop again, looking forward to it!

Ok, so as with all things internet based there was some trepidation about buying from Katanamart. The Matsukura looked great in the photos but would it live up to expectations when delivered?
I'm happy to say that it's exceeded them! Exceptionally well constructed, beautifully finished and correctly packed for transport. After using it for the first time I can only say that I'll be recommending Katanamart to anyone looking to purchase their first sword, not only for the outstanding quality and very competitive pricing, but also for the range available. Well done Katanamart, keep up the very good work.

Es mi primera katana y no puedo comparar, es muy bonita y con unos acabados finos y elegantes, perfecta para exposición. El trato con el personal excelente, hubo un pequeño problema con la entrega pero lo solucionaron rápido y satisfactoriamente. 100% recomendable.

As for a katana sword that almost costs 670 euros the first impression one would have when seeing such a sword for the first time, would be one of awe, the same goes for the sample that I received. However, upon some closer examination you might or might not see some flaws with the sword (let's hope for the latter, but be realistic). The sword that I received for example has a rather loose tsuba (shabbard) making the blade slightly bouncy/wobbly when sheathed (this could damage the blade itself). However everything else certainly looks alright and it is quite a sharp and sturdy sword just by the feel of it.
A great blade for a collecter, for the more serious practioners it would be an affordable alternative to the more expensive authentic Japanese katana's.

Das Schwert ist wirklich super, keine Lockeren Teile, kein Klappern oder Klimpern, alle Teile scheinen pass-genau aufeinander abgestimmt, auch die Optik des Schwertes ist spitze, die Klinge macht einen sehr robusten Eindruck und ist super verarbeitet, von der Geometrie und der Schwerpunktverlagerung, bis hin zur Politur und der Hamon stimmt alles. Volle Punktzahl von mir.
Der Kundenservice/Korrespondenz verdient ebenfalls die volle Punktzahl.
