How to change CMS or platform without losing reviews
Before switching platforms
The migration of reviews between platforms is available from the Pro plan. You do not need to create another account: add the new store or connection within your panel and keep the previous connection until support confirms that the migration has finished.
Before the change, note the domains, the source and destination platforms, and the numerical identifiers of the products. If the order numbering also changes, use a different or higher series on the new platform to reduce the risk of duplicates.
How to connect the new platform
- Install and fully connect the Revi module, plugin, or app on the new platform.
- Check the API key, the last connection, and the cron or synchronization task when applicable.
- Wait for the new catalog to be fully synchronized in My products.
- Do not delete the previous connection: it can retain the history while the new one receives future orders.
- When both connections are visible, open a ticket for support to review the migration.
How to transfer product reviews
The most reliable option is to prepare an Excel or CSV with one row per product and two columns: Previous numeric ID and New numeric ID. This criterion is recommended for Shopify, PrestaShop, and WooCommerce; do not use the handle, slug, name, or URL as the primary identifier.
If you do not have both numeric IDs, Revi can attempt matching using EAN, SKU, or MPN. For this, the new catalog must be fully synchronized. This method is less recommended because it can produce ambiguous matches or leave products unfound.
Why is the old store still appearing
The previous store or connection may still appear because it contains the history of reviews. The new connection receives future orders and can temporarily coexist with the previous one.
Do not delete the old connection until support confirms that the store and product reviews are correctly associated. Deleting it before that check may hinder diagnosis and recovery of the history.
