La calidad del juego, es simplemente exquisita. El servicio post-venta por parte de Ajedrez 21 fue excepcional, pues hubo un problema con la tonalidad de las piezas en un primer envío. Lo resolvieron y se hicieron cargo de los costes extra de envío.

La gran mayoría de partidas son de los años noventa. Hay 33 partidas en total y cada una trata sobre diferentes temas como podría ser: la pareja de alfiles, ataques al rey, sacrificios, el centro... Un tercio de las partidas son del autor, pero también hay partidas de Kasparov, Karpov, Shirov y jugadores menos populares pero de primera talla mundial.

Los análisis no son sofocantes y no hay influencia alguna de los módulos en este libro. Todos los comentarios están formulados por el propio autor o de extractos de Chess Informator que los propios jugadores de las partidas aportaron en su día. Los únicos momentos en los que las variantes pueden ser tediosas son cuando hay referencias a otras partidas que difieren de la jugada del texto. Pero, siempre puedes omitir estos comentarios. Además, cuando ya se acaba la fase de la apertura, estas referencias ya no existen. Por lo tanto, la relación variante/texto está bien equilibrada en mi opinión.

Otro detalle que me parece interesante mencionar son las aperturas. Aunque aparecen diferentes aperturas, hay muchas Defensas Sicilianas en este libro. Sospecho que Edmar Mednis era un especialista porque la mayoría de sus partidas son con diferentes variantes de esta apertura.

Por último, solo me queda decir que no considero que haya aprendido muchas cosas con este libro. La mayoría de consejos que da, que no son tantos como uno cabría esperar, ya los he escuchado antes. Creo que el valor de este libro está en que es una colección de partidas de jugadores de élite. Si lo tratas de esa manera, el libro no está mal.
