How to activate Google Shopping Ratings and product stars on Google

To activate Google Shopping in Revi, go to Connected stores, open the corresponding store, and go to the Google Shopping tab. From there, you can activate the Google Shopping Feed if you meet the requirements.

Requirements to activate it:

  1. Have a Premium plan.
  2. Have at least 50 product reviews. It is not necessary for all 50 to be from the same product.
  3. Have the latest version of the Revi module or integration.
  4. Your products must have identifiers that Google can relate to your catalog: EAN, or manufacturer code/reference and manufacturer name.

If you still do not meet the requirements, Revi will display the message You do not yet meet the requirements to activate Google Shopping and the switch cannot be activated.

Within the tab, there are two important options:

  • Activate Google Shopping Feed: sends product reviews to Google so they can be processed as Shopping Ratings.
  • Activate Feed of products separated by combination: use it if your Google Merchant XML catalog sends products separated by combinations or variants.

There is also the option to Overwrite brand name. This is used to force a brand for all products, but it must match the brand value you send in your product feed to Google.

In the feed status tab, you can see:

  • number of product reviews with solid identifier
  • products with reviews
  • percentage of products validated for Google Shopping
  • products with issues because Google cannot identify them

If there are products without a unique identifier, Google Shopping will not be able to relate them correctly. To resolve this, review your products and add EAN when possible. If you do not have EAN, check that the product has SKU, UPC, or MPN along with brand/manufacturer.

Once the feed is activated, the stars do not appear immediately. Google needs between 3 and 4 weeks to process and verify the reviews before they can start showing in Shopping ads. Revi sends the information, but the final display depends on Google's processing and approval.
