I believe the picture is a little misleading as the purple is a lot darker in real life, I would not have purchased it if I knew it was so dark. Other than that the sword itself can't be faulted. Shipping was very fast.

Love this sword! Beautifully crafted with a unique ringed design carved into the Saya, a real pleasure to use with the leather tsuka ito. Stands out above the other Katana in my collection by a mile!

This was my first ever purchase from katanamart and I was not disappointed, delivery time was exactly as promised, the quality of the sword, fittings and finish is everything I hoped it would be. I also have a high quality Iaito and when I compared it alongside my new sword was surprised at the closeness of the quality especially when my Iaito cost four times the amount of this sword. The Matsukura Katana is excellent value for money and I definitely intend to make further purchases from katanamart in the future. Great service, great product, great delivery.

This is a beautiful sword. It really is perfectly balanced and so comfortable to hold thanks to the black leather hand wrapping. I found the saya to be less thick than my other swords but it is stunning to look at. This is a big size and you may find it a little more difficult to draw the sword and to replace it back in the saya, but if you are tall maybe it won’t be a problem. I highly recommend this sword for those who are serious students.

Short, fast, and well balanced, I would definitely recommend this tanto. The slightly curved blade is well crafted, with no visible problems, and the Tsuka, Tsuka Ito, and all other parts of the tanto are of equal quality. The tanto arrived on time, with no damage, along with my other purchase from this site, which I have also left a review for. If I had to nitpick one thing, it would be that the packing grease used in the saya to keep the blade clean during transport had smeared the blade somewhat, and it was a little bit of a pain to have to get rid of it all, however, that doesn't affect the actual tanto in any way, and therefore it is not to be seen as a problem with the weapon itself. In conclusion I would rate this tanto a 9/10, and recommend it to all who were looking for a cheapish, nice-looking piece.

Bought this a while ago and have only just thought of writing a review for it. A very nice looking sword, the blade is clean and it makes an extremely satisfying swooshing noise when wielded. Fairly well balanced and masterfully assembled. I would however recommend buying a katana with a different colour of Tsuka Ito if it is planned to be used often as the white grip can become grey with dirt and sweat from palms etc, however, if you have the experience to remove, wash and replace the Ito then by all means don't listen to me. It came on time, packaged well and with no damage to the katana itself. Have been using it ever since to much enjoyment, and when not in use it sits on a shelf in my house and looks very impressive. All in all, I rate this katana a 9.5/10.
