Transparency in every review

Our review methodology

Revi is an independent reviews platform. Each review shows its origin and whether Revi has linked it to a specific order: we publish both reviews verified by Revi and unverified ones, always identifying their source. Our goal is to provide consumers with reliable information and businesses with a trusted tool to manage their online reputation.

Step by step

The journey of a review

Each stage explains what information is behind a review and what it may mean for the person reading it.

  1. How reviews are collected

Native reviews are requested after a recorded purchase or experience. Not every order generates an email: opt-outs, undeliverable addresses, duplicates, test orders and certain technical marketplace relays are excluded. A business cannot exclude someone because of a complaint, return, incident or the rating it expects. Anyone who did not receive an invitation may request access to review from the business profile by providing details that match their order. In enabled channels, one to five stars are required and the comment is optional. The business cannot write or modify the content on the author’s behalf.

  2. Purchase verification

Public labels explain the source and level of traceability available. A native review linked by Revi to an order belonging to the same business may display the “Verified by Revi” label. Google copies and imported reviews retain their source identification; that source does not by itself amount to Revi verification.

  3. Authenticity of the experience

A review must be based on the author’s own genuine experience, which the author confirms by accepting the Terms of Use. Revi may request information to verify its authenticity.

  4. Publication and initial checks

Eligible native reviews are published after they are recorded and complete the initial automated checks, usually within moments. The merchant does not review or approve them before publication. Publication does not mean that Revi approves the content, and a later restriction may change its visibility. This rule does not apply to Google copies or imported reviews.

How to read the information

How the Revi Score is calculated

The Revi Score is a recency-weighted average: more recent reviews carry greater weight than older ones. This better reflects the current state of the business service. The formula weights each review inversely to the time elapsed since its publication.

Moderation and transparency

A business’s mere disagreement with legitimate criticism does not justify removal. Any restriction requires an applicable ground, evidence and a reasoned human decision; receipt, formal validation, deduplication, deadlines and drafts may be automated. Businesses may reply publicly to reviews.

Negative reviews

Negative reviews are published just like positive ones. We display the percentage of negative reviews that the business has responded to as an indicator of their commitment to customer service.

Multi-source reviews

When we display a Google copy, we identify its source: use Google’s channel to act on the original, while the hosted copy may be notified to Revi. A Revi decision affects only its copy. Imported reviews are not an indivisible block, but they may not be selectively removed based on rating.

Independence

Revi operates independently. Businesses cannot pay to improve their score, remove negative reviews or influence the order of publication. Our business model is based on management tools, not on review manipulation.
